Claude Monet.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir.
Edgar Degas.
Some postimpressionists are:
Paul Cézanne.
Paul Gauguin.
Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
Vincent van Gogh.
VINCENT VAN GOGH:
Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch painter, one of the leading exponents of post-impressionism. He painted about 900 pictures (including 27 self-portraits and 148 watercolors) and performed more than 1600 drawings. A central figure in his life was his younger brother Theo, an art dealer in Paris who lent financial support continuously and selflessly. The great friendship between them is documented in numerous letters they exchanged from August 1872. Of the 800 letters preserved by the painter, some 650 were for Theo, the others are correspondence with family and friends.
